"Work IT Out!"

“Wherefore my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” Philippians 2:12

 

Salvation is freely given when we believe in our hearts and confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord. Our scripture says we must work out our Salvation. This statement can be confusing as it is often taken to mean we must do something; we must work to receive or keep our salvation. Not so! Work out does not mean work for.

 

We do not work for salvation, but we must engage in a process to allow the gift of salvation that is IN us to be manifested OUTside of us in our living, our being, our doing, and our loving. We must work out what God has put in us so that it shows in our character.

 

This process is a renewing of our minds, our thoughts, our feelings- our souls.

It is a process of evolving to look like our father.

In this new year, let’s evolve together. Let’s embrace our new creature. Let’s let old hurts, attitudes, perceptions, fears, unclean habits pass away and work on letting all things inside become new.
